Tofu and Tomato Egg Drop Soup from NYT Cooking. This is a nice tomato soup with some Asian flavors of ginger and sesame oil. It is good, we give it a 3.

Kimchi and Potato Hash with Eggs from NYT Cooking. This is another winner. The kimchi brings a richness to the potatoes that gets accented by the eggs and drizzling mayonnaise over the finished hash. We really enjoyed this and it gets a 5.

Asaro (Yam and Plantain Curry) from NYT Cooking. This is a winner! A wonderful melange of flavors including some fruitiness and heat from habanero. This is excellent and gets a 5. The recipe does call for cutting the yams and plantains into 1 1/2 inch pieces. We prefer 3/4 to 1 inch pieces for more even cooking and they are more bite sized

Whiskey Daisy from Epicurious. A variant on a whiskey sour which we liked because there is a little sweetness to balance the lemon. We give this a 4.

5 Ingredient Lemon Ricotta Pasta from Food and Wine. This is a nice dish, with the lemon accenting the creaminess of the ricotta. We enjoyed it but it did not stand out. It gets a 3.

I missed taking the photo, but this dish is Habanero Chicken and Broccoli from NYT Cooking. We liked this a lot. The habanero is nicely balanced with citrus and honey. We would have liked the chicken to be a bit more browned—not sure it needs to be skin side down at any point. This gets a 4.
