Tonight's new dinner recipes come from the August 2012 Cooking Light: Chicken Tostadas and Avocado Salsa, and Chipotle Rice. A delicious meal, we give the rice a 3 and the tostadas a 4.
No wine this evening, enjoyed a Spaten Munich Dunkel instead.

New recipes, May 5, 2012
We did an old favorite from Epicurious, Lamb Chops with Pomegranate and Dried Fig Relish. Still gets a 5! The new dishes are from the Cooks Illustrated Cookbook: Roasted Green Bean and Potato Salad with Radicchio, and Roasted Fennel and Mushroom Salad with Radishes. The very successful trick with both of these is combining roasted and cooled vegetables with fresh vegetables. We give the fennel salad a 5, and the bean salad a 4. A great dinner, and very enjoyable after a long ride!

Tonight's very tasty recipe is Pan Seared Sirloin with Corn Relish from Epicurious, a recipe from Tom Colicchio who we always enjoy learning from on Top Chef. A simple cucumber banana pepper salad is on the side. The relish is a great complement to the steak--very nice!

Tonight's new recipe is Chicken Breasts with Wild Mushrooms, Marjoram and Marsala from Epicurious, with fresh tomatoes from the garden. Quite nice! We are working toward a very low fat diet for awhile, so we used fat free half and half for the cream in this, and olive oil instead of butter. It didn't thicken as much as cream would have, but it tasted wonderful. We would make this one again.
