Concord Moscow Mule from gastronomblog.com. This has concord juice, but it really tastes like a Moscow mule. The ginger dominates and it is hard to notice the grape except for the color. We give this a 3.

Wild Rice and Golden Beet Salad from the April 2018 Food and Wine. We used chioggia beets from our garden. This is exceptionally good-the ingredients blend together beautifully. We give this a 5.

Rice Cooker Chicken Biriyani with Saffron Cream from NYT Cooking. Nice Indian flavors. For me personally, I would have liked even more ginger snd garlic. We give this a 4.

Grilled Lamb Kebabs with Smoky Peaches from NYT Cooking. This was interesting. Good flavors, but seemed dominated by 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar. As leftovers, though, it was much more nuanced. We would suggest letting it marinated in the vinegar for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. We like this and give it a 4.

Delicata Squash and Sausage Crostata with Ricotta and Honey from the October 2018 Food and Wine. This has so many nice ingredients, including squash from our garden, but we experienced a lot of separate flavors—they never seemed to come together into a whole. We give this a 3.

Happy 89th to Mark's Dad Michael! Tomatillo Tomato and Avocado Gazpacho from NYT Cookinf, and Chicken Riggies from the October 2021 Eating Well. The gazpacho is elegant and gets a 5. The rigatoni is satisfying comfort food. We give it a 3.

We had a bumper crop of Concord grapes, so we have Concord juice! This is a Concord Grape Gin Fizz from the October 2013 Food and Wine. Really nice! Lots of flavors and still highlights the grapes. We give this a 5.

Eggplant Lamb and Yogurt Casserole from NYT Cooking. This is Yotam Ottolenghi at his best. It is not difficult, but fair warning that there are multiple steps and it takes a couple hours. But it results in wonderful layered flavors and we love this. This is a 5, and one you should definitely make!

Pressure Cooker Beef Pho from NYT Cooking. There are still a number of steps in this recipe, but the pressure cooker speeds it up considerably! This captures the wonderful complex flavors of pho. We give this a 5!
