Garlicky Chicken Sandwiches with Red Cabbage Slaw from NYT Cooking, and Crispy Okra Salad from Food and Wine. The sandwiches have multiple layers of flavor that work well together-we give this a 4. The okra salad is quite simple (after you fry the okra) but the flavor and texture is a delight. It gets a 5!

The new recipe is Oven Roasted Cauliflower Florets from Food and Wine. We have certainly roasted cauliflower before, but not just as florets. It becomes mellow and sweet, and then gets jazzed up with a spritz of lemon juice. Very simple and really enjoyable. It gets a 4.

Peanut Butter Sandwich with Pickles and Sriracha, a "non-recipe" from NYT Cooking. This was fun to try but was subtle. I might use 2 layers of pickles and would not skimp on sriracha. As made, it gets a 3.

Cauliflower Okonomiyaki from Food and Wine. This is a Japanese savory pancake. It also has a few steps to prepare multiple components, but they are delicious together. This gets a 5!

Curry Chicken and Sweet Potato Galette from Fiid and Wine. This dish has multiple components, each of which requires preparation before it is assembled and baked. So it takes quite a bit of time. Some of the components can be done ahead of time. And they all come together beautifully. This is time consuming but delicious. It gets a 5!

Gaji Namur (Gochujang- Marinated Eggplant). Cooking the eggplant is quick, but then you need to marinate it overnight. And it is worth it!! This gets an enthusiastic 5!

Vegan Coconut Ginger Black Beans from NYT Cooking. This is enjoyable, though we expected to taste more of the ginger and cumin. We would increase the amount of both. The hot sauce is a good addition. Overall, we give this a 3.

Roasted Zucchini and Shrimp with Za'atar Yogurt, and Chez Panisse's Blueberry Cobbler, both from NYT Cooking. The shrimp is nice, enhanced by the yogurt. It gets a 4. The cobbler truly is extraordinary. There used to be very little sugar in the berries, which lets them sing, covered with a rich buttery crust. It gets a 5!
