Scrambled Eggs with Soy Marinated Tomatoes. We have the most amazing Black Krim tomatoes in our garden. This recipe is quick, and just wonderful. Scallion, garlic, ginger and sesame oil work so well with the tomatoes—it also has a little agave which it doesn't really need, as there is some sweetness in the tomatoes. We give this a 5!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken from NYT Cooking. This is baked rather than fried, and uses mayonnaise to adhere the bread crumbs and Parmesan, which also keeps it moist. This gets a 4!

Mushroom and Eggplant Yassa from NYT Cooking, served with fonio. This is a very tasty west African dish, and our first experience with the African grain, fonio. We enjoyed it a lot! This gets a 4.

One Pot Orzo with Tomatoes Corn and Zucchini from NYT Cooking. This is a nice way to use the bounty from our garden. Our corn and cherry tomatoes are actually very sweet, so this seemed a tad sweet to us, though the flavors are otherwise nice. We give this a 3.

We celebrated Labor Day with Chapli Burgers from NYT Cooking, which are made with Indian spices and served with tamarind ketchup and herbed yogurt, with garden fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. They are very thin so they cook quickly. We really enjoyed the way the flavors came together. These get a 5! Another day I missed the photo
