We saw the excellent production of "The Nest" at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, so the new recipe is the El Presidente Cocktail from The Cuban Table by Ana Sofía Peláez and Ellen Silverman. Very nice, we give this a 4.

We attended a sponsor's event for Curious Theatre, so the new recipe is the Paper Plane Cocktail from the February 2016 Bon Appetít. It has a nice mix of flavors, we give it a 4.

Bucatini with Walnut Parsley Pesto from the December 2015 Bon Appetít--fabulous, it gets a 5! Served with Chickpea Red X Pepper and Arugula Salad from Cooking Light Soups and Stews. Also very good--it gets a 4.

Easy Thai Steak Noodle Bowl from the Jabuary/February 2016 Cooking Light. Very flavorful, and still it seems like there is room to increase the amount of curry paste! We give it a 4.

We hosted Carl's executive team for dinner, with three dishes from Rick Bayless' Fiesta at Rick's: Sun Dried Tomato Guacamole with Crunchy Vegetables; Classic White Posole; and Frontera Grill's Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars.

We enjoyed this meal--we give the guacamole and the Posole a 4. The pecan bars get a 5!

We modified the pecan bars to make them gluten free--we left out the small amount of flour, and we used gluten free pretzels. Yum!
