Raw Beet and Cucumber Salad from the August 2016 Bon Appetít. Delicious, with layers of flavor. It gets a 5, but be aware there is a lot of chopping! Served with a pan fried steak.

Quick Summer Squash and Bell Pepper Gratin from the July 2016 Cooking Light. This is a delight--drizzling a little sherry vinegar over the top is amazing. It gets a 5.

The new recipe today is Chilled Peaches in Orange Blossom Water from the July 2016 Cooking Light, hoping to make the best of Colorado peaches--alas, they weren't quite perfectly ripe, so we give this a 3, but it will be good to try again with a perfect peach!

We cooked for our family reunion tonight all from the July 2016 Bon Appetít. Roasted Red Peppers with Cherry Tomatos with Ricotta, and
Corn Salad with Hazelnuts Pecorino and Mint. The red peppers get a 4, the corn salad gets a 5. 
We also served the Shishito Dog (not pictured), which was new and gets a 5, and repeated the Banh Mi, Hawaiian, and Elote Dogs.
Dessert is Frozen Peaches with Strawberry and Mint--we couldn't he it to freeze, but still delicious--it gets a 4.
