Shrimp and Grits from the December 2018 Cooking Light. The sauce and grits were wonderful together. Sadly the shrimp we had was not as good as we would have liked. We give the dish a 4 as we made it, and think it would be a 5 with better shrimp!

Pasta with Italian Sunday Sauce from the December 2018 Cooking Light. The sauce is deeply enriched by short ribs and Italian sausage. Very good! We give this a 4.

We forgot the feta and it was still delicious! We give it a 3 as we made it, and anticipate at least a 4 with the Feta.

Smoky Brussels Sprouts from the December 2018 Cooking Light. Very tasty, we give these a 4. It does seem like more cooking time to caramelize the sprouts would have made it even better.

Happy Solstice! Smoky Red Lentil Hummus from the December 2018 Cooking Light. The flavors are delicious! We probably did not give enough attention to ensuring the lentils were mushy, so it was not as creamy as we expected. As made this gets a 3, but we will make it again to see how good it can be.

For breakfast we had Maple Bacon Popovers from the November 2018 Food and Wine. These were fun and tasty! We give them a 4.
The cocktail was the Pomegranate Spritzer from the December 2018 Cooking Light. Pleasant, we give it a 3.
Two wonderful turkeys, both with a 5! Dry Rubbed Turkey from the November 2018 Bon Appetít, and Smoked Turkey on a Traeger Pellet Grill from robcooks.com
Lastly, Classic Herb and Fennel Dressing from the November 2018 Bon Appetít, which is also quite good and gets a 4!

Shake with ice, strain into a chilled martini glass or coupe.
