Tonight we made a Watermelon and Feta Salad, from the Denver Post. We had dinner with my parents and my brother Paul, who made a grilled tuna steak with a great salsa. We had a great meal!

The wine was a Sebastiani 2009 Sonoma Chardonnay.

Chicken Red Pepper and Spinach Sausage (from Costco) and Heirloom Tomato Salad with Mozzarella and Basil from Epicurious.com. Both were quite enjoyable! No wine, as we were headed to see a show.

New recipe, June 13, 2011

Tonight we had the Roast Beef with Chipotle Red Pepper Sauce and Mustard Chive Sauce (a worthy repeat) and the new recipes was the Spicy Pepper and Watermelon Salad (minus the flank steak) from Epicurious.com. These worked really nicely together!
Wine: 2005 Vineyard Pinot Noir. It is a nice pint noir, not overly complex, so a nice complement to the variety of flavors in these dishes. MMM!

New recipe, June 12, 2011

Tonight's meal was from Epicurious.com: Coriander-Crusted Scallops with Chive Potato Hash and Sweet Corn Sauce. This was apparently designed for a spa, so we made and ate it in rather larger amounts than this called for! It was very good.

Wine: 2009 Domaine de Pellehaut Harmonie de Gascogne. Worked really nicely with this dish

Tonight, we were not at home for dinner--we were helping Gary May, who was a supervisor and mentor of Carls during his residency, celebrate his retirement. When we got home, we had a Gypsy, from Epicurious.com.

Tonight we ate Roast Fillet of Beef with Chipotle Red Pepper Sauce and Mustard Chive Sauce, Carrot Radish Salad, both from Epicurious.com, and a lettuce and red pepper salad. The sauces were a great contrast to each other, and both worked great with the meat.

Wine: Jean Michel Maurice Domaine du Prieure Bourgogne 2006. Amazing that this worked with both meat sauces, and still worked with the carrot radish salad, which also had lime juice in it. Wonderful with the meal!
