New recipe, May 13, 2016

We enjoyed more of the Pasta with Chicken Green Olives and Ramp Vinaigrette (yum!), so the new recipe is the Mezcal Margarita from the May 2016 Cooking Light. Carl sometimes finds Mezcal too smoky, but this recipe mellows it nicely. We give it a 4.

Chicken Thighs with Ginger Sesame Glaze from the June 2016 Cooking Light. Familiar flavors, and very good so we give it a 4. Served with a red pepper and snow pea stir fry.

We celebrated Mark's Mom's birthday with his parents with the Spring Vegetable and Sunflower Panzanella from the April 2016 Food and Wine, served with Mario Batali's Lamb Chops Scottadita from the Italian Grill. Dessert is Strawberries in Sambuca from Epicurious. We give the salad a 4, and the dessert gets a 5.

Japanese Style Spinach (Gomae) from the March/April 2016 Eating Well. Very good, we give this a 4. Served with a reprise of the Gruyere Asparagus and Pea Baked Pasta.

The new recipe is the Spicy Quick Pickled Radishes from the November 2015 Food and Wine, which we enjoyed a lot and give a 4. Served on a green salad, with sautéed chicken thighs.

It was a very long day, so the new recipe is the Vesper Cocktail from the October 2015 Bon Appetït. We ended up using vanilla vodka, so it was a Vanilla Vesper, but it is quite good--we give it a 4.
