Two from Ottolengi The Cookbook: Burnt Eggplant with Yellow Pepper and Red Onion (we used several colors of pepper), and Beef and Lamb Meatballs Baked in Tahini (all beef as we could not get ground lamb in Mexico). We loved the eggplant--it gets a 4. The meatballs were also nice, we give them a 3--if we'd had lamb, could easily have gotten a 4.

Carl cooked a masterpiece--Seared Duck Breast with Blood Orange and Star Anise from Ottolenghi The Cookbook. We don't have blood orange yet, so we settled for navel (all there is in the markets today). A 5!

Served with a spinach salad with radishes and mild peppers.

After that Super Bowl, at least we had this to celebrate--Marinated Turkey Breast with Cumin Cilantro and White Wine from Ottolenghi: The Cookbook by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamami. This is a definite 5--extraordinary! Served with a mixed green salad with citrus slices.

Wine: Antis Torrontés 2010--this was nicely matched!
