We went to see a screening of "My All American," a wonderful movie that will be released this fall--worth your time! So tonight's new recipe is an unnamed cocktail from chowhound.com for a Breckenridge Bitters cocktail. This is very tasty, as long as you are a fan of bitters. We give this a 4.

Carl gave a talk on Wellbeing this evening, so we celebrated his birthday with the German Chocolate Cake Cocktail from the Food Network. You chew the lemon, take a sip and then exhale. And yes, it really does taste like a German chocolate cake. We give it a 3.

Braised Fennel with Parmesan Breadcrumbs from the March 2015 Cooking Light. Great flavors, it gets a 4. We did have fairly large fennel, but still think the recipe underestimated the cooking time.
Served with a pan fried pork chop.
