Chilled Zucchini Soup with Lemon and Basil from NYT Cooking, Beef Poke from Food and Wine, and Jacque Pepin's Favorite Poundcake (with diced Colorado peaches). The soup and poke are extraordinary and get 5s. The cake is very tasty but seemed a bit dry. There wasn't an altitude adjustment which could be the issue. We give it a 3.

New recipe, August 12, 2023

Shrimp in Rundown Sauce with Cavatelli from NYT Cooking. It looks like a creamy tomato pasta sauce, but it is jazzed up with ginger, lemongrass, lime, and coconut milk instead of cream. It gets a 4. We think it is a little heavy on the pasta—the shrimp get a little physically lost in the pasta

Poc Chuc (Citrus Marinated Grilled Pork) from NYT Cooking. The pork takes on a lot of citrus flavor and is delicious. We used thin pork chops, an alternative to pork shoulder in the recipe, but this would have been even better with the shoulder. The pork tastes great, and is enhanced even more by the accompaniments. We give this a 5.
