New recipe, June 5, 2011

Tonight we had Blueberry Beef Burgers, from EatingWell.com. Does this sound odd to you? They are actually fabulous. The blueberry and other ingredients (garlic, bread, worcestershire, Dijon) bring both flavor and moisture to the lean beef. We had trouble getting the burgers to hold together, but we weren't paying close attention to the proportions. The flavor, however, was great! They were a very satisfying way to finish off a big cycling day, along with a green salad. We will do them again! It didn't hurt that we got to eat on the deck of the house in Tabernash.

The wine was the Clif's Cuvee Pinot Noir, made for our local wine shop, The Vineyard, by Eola Hills Wine Cellars. This is a lighter american pinot noir, and the fruitiness matched nicely with the mild sweetness the blueberries brought to the burgers.
