Tonight we had several more new recipes from Mario Batali's Molto Italiano. We had Braciole di Vitello (Veal Rolls in Tomato Sauce) and Fenocchio alla Sambuca (Fennel with Anchovies and Sambuca). These are definite home runs (Mario has a lot of those!!), and the two of them worked complemented each other very nicely. The wine was a 2000 Basilisco Aglianico del Vulture--a very robust red wine with lots of dark cherry, leather, tobacco and cocoa. I wondered if it would overpower the food, but it complemented it really well.
Anne made a homemade Tiramisu to finish the meal.
The entire meal was wonderful! Would make them all again!
