Beautiful Day near Tabernash
Mark and I cycled in the mountains today from our place near Tabernash called Indian Peaks Lodge to Willow Creek Pass and back. This is a little over 68 miles and our first climbing ride for the season. The temperatures were cool around 46 degrees when we started and around 70 degrees when we finished. You know it is a bit windy when the tail wind is helping you climb the mountains at 20 miles an hour and the head wind slows you to 16 miles an hour on the way down the mountain. It is still quite dry here and early Spring. The aspen are just starting to leave out. The western chorus frogs are calling from the mountain ponds. Just spots of snow in the crags on the mountains. The pasqueflower is blooming and are among the first flowers to bloom in the Spring. It happens to be the state flower of South Dakota.
