The wine was a Chateau Peyruchet Bordeaux 2007--it has the acidity of sauvignon blanc, and some oakiness that spoke to the fruity sweetness of the apricots and the nuttiness of the almonds in the salad. An excellent match!

New recipes, May 13, 2011
The dinner this evening was meatless--Goat Cheese Tarts with Leeks and Apricot Preserves, courtesy of Terry Boyd in the Christian Science Monitor Food Blog, and a Salad of Butter Lettuce, Watercress, Radishes, Smoked Almonds and Feta, from John Broening's column, Short Order, in the Denver Post. Both of these were excellent, and they complemented each other well.
