We headed to the hills this evening, for a holiday weekend of cycling and getting ready for the Bicycle Tour of Colorado. Before we left, Carl made a delicious Shrimp and Andouille Pot Pie from Epicurious.com. One of the fun things about cooking something new every day is that we are not only learning new recipes, we are also learning techniques that are new to us. Neither of us had made pot pie before, but Carl has all sorts of ideas for other pot pies, now that he has seen the basic technique!No wine, as we were driving, but Carl added in a yummy Watermelon Granita from Food and Wine. It is very simple, and a delicious dessert!

Mark, if you like salmon, maybe Carl would make a delicious pot pie for you with leeks and other tasty things. Would be fun to find your pairing with the rich salmon flavor.
